Help Me Find This Pattern!
| I have received tons of email from visitors, looking for help in finding wallpaper and borders. Because of the volume, it is taking me too long to reply to your inquiries. However, I have noticed that there are a few common questions regarding finding patterns, so before you give up, here are a few easy tips I've learned in order to find a wallpaper or border pattern. |
95% of the email we receive begins in one of these three ways:
1. I am looking for a border that has ______________ on it. You fill in the blank. Could be Roosters, Coffee Pots, Race Cars, Leopard Skins, Tulips, Soccer Balls, etc. etc.
2. I am looking for a border that is in a book by ______________.
3. I am looking for a border or wallpaper that has a pattern number of _______________.
So, here's how you find your wallpaper or border, using the examples above. Starting with item 1, let's say you are looking for a border with birdhouses on it. (Remember, you can substitute birdhouse for anything else you want to find, just follow these steps).
You'll find the link to go to at the end of the example, but when you open the page, you will see this:

You need to use the Search by design & color: above. On the the top are a number of check boxes. When the page opens up the two you see checked are wallpaper and border. If all you want is wallpaper, uncheck the border box to make it easier to find what you need. If you want matching fabric, check that box. Below, there is a drop down box with the various types of designs available to search from. You might need to search more than one.
Click the down arrow on the design list: box and scroll down till you see Bird House.
Now, with Birdhouse highlighted, you can use the drop down below the design list: that's labeled color list: if you want to select a primary color for the birdhouses. If you just want to see 'em all, leave it as it is, "NO PREFERENCE". Now, click the Search button and you will find all the wallpaper/border they have with Birdhouses on them! And that is all there is to it.
If you are looking for a pattern or background and don't see it in the dropdown list, try the Search by keyword description: on the left. Check the boxes for wallpaper, border, fabric or whatever you seek. Type in your keyword and then search. You may need to try a few different keywords to find it.
For example, you might want a border with hogs on them. (Don't ask me why...it's just for example!).
You won't find Hog or Hogs in the drop down. If you search for keyword Hog or Hogs, you won't find any there either. But! if you search for Pig or Pigs you will! So if you hit a road block, try to come up with other words for what you seek.
Now, if you are looking for a particular book, you follow the same general procedure, only with these exceptions. Up above, where you see Search by book name: is where you want to put in the name of the book with the pattern you seek. TIP: Unless you know Exactly the name of the book you want, only type in the first two or three letters. Otherwise, it may skip over the book you are looking for! Let's say you want a pattern out of the book "Contemporary Lifestyles". Where it says Search by book name, just type in the letters Con. Then press Search. It will list every book there is starting with "Con".
This will work the same for any book you are looking for.
Now, pattern numbers are harder, because of the way products are coded. But you would use the same procedure as the book search, only type in the pattern number in the field under the "Search by pattern # or item #".
If you are ready, just go to the page located here to start your search.
